Police in Middletown have located the driver of a car that hit a 2-year-old child on Thursday morning.

The child was hit by a car around 8:30 a.m. on Grand Street, near Bacon Avenue.

The 2-year-old was taken to the hospital, where they are listed in stable condition.

Police said the suspected car briefly stopped before it took off from the scene.

Video surveillance captured the car as it approached the collision.

After a search, police said Thursday evening that they found the driver of the car involved. That person is cooperating with police.
