A man was arrested after a man shot at a person’s car.

The incident happened in April in the area of Dixwell Avenue and Woodin Street in Hamden.

When police responded, a 46-year-old victim told them he had stopped at a service station to get gasoline.

The victim said he was inside his car when he was approached by Phillip Holmes.

Police said the victim had opened his door and caused Holmes to “stumble backwards.”

Holmes then shot at the victim’s car multiple times.

He fled from the area and police were able to locate him on July 10.

He was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, criminal attempt to commit assault and several other charges.

Holmes was given a $400,000 bond and will be in court on July 24.
