Police in Enfield made several arrests Monday after receiving complaints of criminal activity in the Thompsonville section of town.
According to police, a small team of Enfield patrol officers conducted proactive enforcement activities in a small section of Thompsonville measuring approximately half of a square mile.
Police said about a dozen traffic stops yielded nine arrests for charges that included: possession of narcotics, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of a protective order, operating under suspension, operating without insurance, and charges stemming from an outstanding warrant.
Additionally, an officer assigned to this proactive team was flagged down by an individual who stated that he was the victim of a robbery that happened just moments earlier.
Probable cause was later developed that the individual, who claimed to have been robbed, was actually in the process of committing a burglary when he was involved in an altercation with another male.
Two arrests stemmed from this incident for charges including: breach of peace, possession with intent to distribute, strangulation, carrying a pistol without a permit, and criminal attempt to commit larceny.
Officers seized a .22 caliber revolver and a small amount of marijuana packaged for sale during the incident
