The Milton Police Department is investigating after the ex-girlfriend of an NFL player was assaulted in his home early Tuesday morning.
Milton officers responded to a home on Hickory Pass around 3:18 a.m. Tuesday in response to a reported home invasion. A preliminary investigation indicated the residence was targeted by the suspect or suspects and was not a random incident.
According to Milton police, the home belongs to a trust, but NFL running back LeSean McCoy has indicated to officers in the past that he is the homeowner.Press release from Delicia Cordon's attorney
When officers arrived, they found two female victims who had been physically assaulted by a lone intruder. During the invasion, the suspect demanded specific items from one of the victims.
That victim, later identified as Delicia Cordon, was treated at the North Fulton Regional Hospital and released. According to her attorneys, Cordon is estranged from McCoy. The attorneys provided a court document showing McCoy tried to have Cordon evicted from the home in June.
An Instagram post Tuesday from a woman who says she is a friend of Cordon showed a graphic photo of Cordon's injuries, accusing McCoy of being behind the attack. The post, which was later deleted, also included accusations that McCoy had used illegal steroids and that he had been abusive toward his son and his dog.
McCoy responded saying the allegations are baseless and false. In his own Instagram post, he said it's been months since he's had any direct contact with his ex-girlfriend or the person who posted the accusations.
The Buffalo Bills issued a statement saying they have been in contact with McCoy and the NFL and will continue gathering information. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy says the league is reviewing the matter. McCoy has never been suspended by the NFL for violating the league's policy against performance enhancing substances during his nine-year career.
A second adult female victim also sustained a minor injury during the incident. The victim's attorney said that woman is Cordon's cousin.
Milton detectives are continuing to investigate. If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact Det. Christopher Bradshaw at email@example.com.
