Emergency crews in Springfield rushed to the Connecticut River to rescue over a dozen people from a sinking crew boat Tuesday afternoon.
Denis Leger, Aid to the Springfield Fire Commissioner told Western Mass News that around 7:05 p.m. firefighters arrived to the North End Bridge.
Leger said when crews got to the river, the crew boat with 22 people on board had a damaged hull after it hit a rock.
Fire crews used two boats; one from Springfield and one from Agawam to shuttle people to shore.
When our crew arrived to the Pioneer Riverfront Valley Club around 7:30 p.m. fire crews were leaving the scene.
Luckily, no one was hurt.
